Cockroaches "Email 2 My Roomate"

* I was going to post a poem, but lol I don't think Imma do that! lol

Dear Roommate,

I have something very neat I want to tell you! I have two pets that I'm bring back to the house. Do you think that you can guess what they are? Well, there brown and have no fur. They are really quick! Your lucky if you can catch them. As matter of fact most people really don't like these creatures. There names are Ben and Martha and they are cockroaches! Before you start freaking out you have nothing to worry about I'm going to make sure they stay inside there little home at all times. But your probably wondering and wanting to ask why I'm doing this right? Well I've been reading a book over them and they just fascinates me in every way! They stay alive at least 2 to 3 weeks after there head is cut off! That happens because there brain is not just in there head like ours but its throughout there body. They have been on this earth before the dinosaurs and they are STILL here. I just want to watch them and see how they go about life for a little while. I'm sure if you were to read the book you would grow fond of the Ben and Martha. Just to make sure you CAN'T smash them with your shoe or try to kill them (even though you trying to kill them may not work since killing them is a hassle). So stepping on them won't help. You will just end of with cockroach guts on your shoe and the roach will still be alive so just FYI. Well anyways see you soon! Ben and Martha are so excited to meet you!!

P.S. Martha just had a little baby named Amber as you can see in the picture lol. See you soon! Hope your summer is going well!

Biopunk (My Additional Question)

I guess the question I would ask is if thelaw is so worried that Biopunks are doing something so wrong then why don't they give them someplace to work and monitor them? I mean I know that would cost a lot, but you wouldnt have to worry about anyone really doing something with bacteria that can kill a lot people. It would also make everything safe for them not doing it in their living space.

Biopunk

I really don't know what I would do!!! I would be like that's soooo cool, BUT I would be terrified of getting caught and being classified as a terrorist be cause I'm playing with genetics! The Steve Kurtz case that I read in Part III really had me like no way I would even want to be envolved in ANYTHING with genetics being in my apartment or garage. On the other hand what if these people are trying to help cure something? What if they are so close to curing a disease that professionals can't cure? I really don't know what to say because these people could make a bacteria that could be able to kill thousands of people and that really scares me. So basically what I'm saying is if my roommate is doing all this I would tell them to get all these stuff out of my house because I am not going to jail for you! I know it's kind of harsh and they may be doing something good but I'm not ready to take that chance because it seems like the FBI will try to find a reason to stop you and accuse you of something like they did to Steve Kurtz.

Zooniverse

When I first got on this website I went straight to the exploring the moon surface. I really didn't get it though. So I left that part and went to study the explosions on the sun and that was really interesting. I had to go through the training being able to sight a comet, optical effect, particle strike, or if its just something else. Its pretty amazing how they have this citizen science. First they train you to be able to see the those following things I listed then they will let you see actual explosions to see if you see anything anyone else hasn't seen.I also went to The Milky Way Project and seen how the stars form. It's just cool how you can actually learn all of this stuff online when some people pay thousands or dollars to learn the exact same thing.

P.S. I just thought that the picture above is really cool since it has an explosion of the sun happening in it and the size of Earth.

Classifying A Galaxy

It's definitely not what I was expecting to see or do, but I guess it was kind of cool. I don't know if I would want to just do that all day especially being asked the same questions over and over again at pictures that sometimes look the same. I read how they started the Galaxy Zoo and its pretty interesting how many people came to the website to classify these different galaxies. It's cool that they made this site so we can at least split the different galaxies up into shapes or if they look alike. because with scientist alone it would have taken forever. Sometimes when I was looking at these galaxies I had no clue what they looked like are anything so I just gave it my best guess.

Science Fiction

Fantasy captures everyone's eye a little more the real science, because certain things become boring. David Brin even says,"Didn't we stop going to the moon because it had become boring?" That question David Brin said in his article really sums up how I feel about science sometimes.  For example, some people may find learning about the moon so boring, but if you were to add flying on a dragon or zombies on the moon they would maybe want to learn more about the moon. Fantasy really doesn't take much time to understand, because when you actually like something you don't mind learning it versus something that you don't like you really just don't want anything to do with it.
I just feel like magic, fantasy, and cryptozoology is just something that everyone wants to know about because its something that we've created I wanna say or that we want to be that generation that discovers something new. People are tired of trying to do or learn the same thing we've been trying to do in the past and it gets boring. Bigfoot is something that catches my eye and I want to know more about it because its something that is just different. I guess what I'm saying is that peoples interest are changing because they want to learn about something they like not whats already been discovered or that takes to much studying or thought to be understood.

The Wonderful Future That Never Was

I would like to focus on the video telephones and the ultrasound that was predicted in the 1900s. The video telephone consist of you having a television there with you and  you would have to press a button to go to the telephone and when you connect with the person you will see the person. Now in days we have Skype which is something we do easily and we don't actually need a television, we could use a cell phone! Back then I'm sure they were fascinated with just using there television with their technology.  The ultrasound machine that was used back then is anything but small. Its a huge machine that you must sit under and water is placed over you in a plastic bag for the "sonic beam." It basically just showed the conditions of the organs in your body and would make sure you didn't need surgery. Ultrasound in today's world lets you see a lot of problems in the body and seeing a unborn baby.

The Future

While watching the video "All's Fair at the Fair" I noticed how at the beginning there was just a couple riding on a buggy and the horse pulling them while cars are just passing them at high speeds. When I say that I thought back to the introduction of The "Wonderful Future That Never Was" when Thomas Jefferson said going fifteen miles per hour by engine was dangerous and life threatening. I thought the slowest that I really can think of speed limit wise is twenty-five so Thomas Jefferson would have thought we were just putting everyone life in danger. You also saw how there was robots doing everything for you, that includes doing you hair, shaving, making you look younger, play the piano, teaching you how to dance, and a lot more! At the end they showed how the man just paid a coin to get a car and it made it seem like they were going so fast in the car. Just them going to to fair I guess it made them futuristic in a way. They are fascinated by all the things they have seen. Half the stuff they seen hasn't even been created in today's worlds.

The broadcast was completely fake but people didn't know what to think because Orson Welles had  respected scientist and astronomers on the radio with him. All they knew was what they were hearing on the radio, no one had any means of communication so they didn't know if it was fake. They spoke about how there was as invasion of martians and heats rays happening.

Einstein. Crazy or Just Misunderstood by People Not Smart as Him

Albert Einstein did many great things like coming up with E = mc2, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in Physics in 1921 for that simple yet complex equation. He also discovered the law of photoelectric effect. The list of all if accomplishments could go on forever I could think with all the people he inspired in his field, but what about the people who had no idea what he was talking about or what he had done? When they looked at Einstein what did they see? An old crazy guy who has messed up hair? Someone that is so smart that he should be praised for his work? Well take a look at the photo of him below and I’m going to tell you what I get from him just by looking at the photo. I see a man that is actually determined to figure out something no one has even thought about. He is keeping an open mind to what he is trying to do. I don’t think he look like a crazy scientist at all. Einstein is definitely famous for his crazy hair. If people were to think of Einstein they probably pull up the picture with him sticking his tongue out and his crazy hair. Some people try to connect themselves with Einstein if they have crazy hair saying they are smart when that isn’t the case at all. Above is the picture of Einstein I looked at and below is the stereotype about Einsteins crazy hair.
